High-throughput analytics for laboratories

Through a close and creative collaboration with a major customer, three high-throughput applications have already been fully developed. All three are already in routine use and cover three of the most important measurement applications, with enormous sample numbers worldwide.

PAH-application-GC

TPH-method

The total hydrocarbon content or H53 method could be made faster by a factor of 20. The cycle time is 70 seconds. Here, the content of hydrocarbons in a sample is quantitatively determined in conformity with the standard with little discrimination between C20 and C40.

VOC-method

The method for measuring volatile substances is carried out with a headspace sample introduction. Up to 90 substances can be quantitatively determined within 3.5 minutes. A speed improvement by a factor of 5 compared to an already highly optimised method was achieved.

PAH-method

The measurement of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) is also very widely used. The method developed takes 2.5 minutes cycle time and resolves the critical pairs in accordance with the standard.
